IMAM Al HUSSEIN (A.S) Imam Hussein is the grandson of the prophet of islam Mohammad (Peace be upon him), son of Ali Ibn Abu Talib and Queen of Islam, Fatimah Al Zahra (daughter of the prophet) brother of Hassan and father of the nine Holy Imams (there are twelve but it means after Imam Hussein), peace be upon them all). Imam Hussein (A.S) was born on the third of sha'ban, 4th year of Al-Hijrah, and was martyred on the tenth of Muharram sixty one Al-Hijrah and buried at Karbala, While defending his faith and piety. Karbala, ever since has attracted Muslim pilgrims from all over the world. Imam Hussein (A.S), like his father, brother and sons, is an Imam appointed by Allah, and, hence, worthy of being obeyed and followed. As the prophet of islam assigned the Imams as his successors by a divine decree, the prophet himself (P.B.U.H), Fatimah and the twelve Imams are endowed with divine piety; they are all sinless and free from fault.
